Frequently asked questions
Why work with Noor?
Noor offers a warm, collaborative, culturally responsive approach to wellbeing. Abira brings together counselling, somatic therapy, Brainspotting, breathwork, social work and herbal practices, shaping support around you rather than fitting you into one model. Sessions move at your pace and may include conversation, practical strategies, body-based awareness or focused emotional processing; whatever feels most supportive.
What are the risks of somatic work?
Somatic work can sometimes bring up unexpected emotions, memories or physical sensations. You're never required to push through discomfort. Abira works gently, checking in regularly and supporting you to stay connected to your own boundaries — you can slow down, redirect or pause at any time.
How do I know which service is right for me?
It depends on what you want to explore and how you're most comfortable working. Counselling suits reflection and practical strategies; somatic therapy suits curiosity about how stress shows up in the body; Brainspotting offers a focused, embodied way into experiences hard to put into words; breathwork offers guided space for connection and grounding. Herbal remedies can complement your existing care. You don't need to decide before your first appointment — Abira can help you find a starting point.
What is the pricing?
Noor uses a sliding scale for accessibility. Therapy, counselling and somatic sessions (50 minutes):
Lower-cost: $70–$80 (limited places, financial hardship)
Reduced: $100 (students, part-time workers)
Mid-tier: $120
Full fee: $150
Breathwork: $150 individual (60 min), $65pp small group of 3–4 (60 min). Unsure what applies to you? Just ask. Herbal products are priced individually.
How long are sessions?
Therapy, counselling and somatic sessions run about 50 minutes; breathwork sessions about 60 minutes. Other appointments or workshops will have their length confirmed at booking.
What if I don't know where to start?
That's completely okay! You don't need a clear explanation or the right words. Your first session can simply be a space to talk about what's going on and what kind of support you're after. Abira will help you find an approach that feels manageable and right for you.
What's the difference between a tincture and a glycetract?
Both are liquid herbal extracts. A tincture is alcohol-based, with a stronger taste and broad preservation of plant constituents. A glycetract (glycerite) uses vegetable glycerine instead: sweeter, and often preferred by those avoiding alcohol for personal, cultural, religious or lifestyle reasons. The best choice depends on the herbs and your preference.
How is the medicine made?
Abira prepares Noor's herbal remedies by hand, in small batches, in a home-based space. Ingredients are ethically sourced where possible. Herbs may be infused in alcohol, vegetable glycerine or another base, then strained and bottled. Small-batch by design, for care over scale.
Why are some items sold out?
Everything is handmade in small batches, so availability shifts with ingredient supply, preparation time and season. This keeps the focus on care, freshness and thoughtful sourcing rather than mass production.
How will I know the herbal remedy is working?
Effects vary by person and preparation. Some people notice gradual shifts rather than an immediate change. It helps to follow the directions provided and pay attention over time. Herbal products complement, but don't replace, prescribed medication or medical advice.
